AI is rewriting work. Schools are slow to adapt. Social media answers too fast. Parents are left stitching together advice from strangers, test-prep companies, and algorithmic feeds — carrying a quiet anxiety about a future nobody seems to have a clear map for. TIE Academy is for the parent who wants to navigate that uncertainty with judgment, warmth, and evidence behind every claim.
The TIE Academy mission.
Think Boldly. Act Ethically. Lead Globally.
How the guide knows your child
Three ways every answer is grounded in your family.
Every answer is shaped by who your child is, where the claim came from, and the long view of the world your child will grow into.
Knows your child
Memory of who they are
A general AI chatbot
Starts every conversation from zero. No memory of who your child is, what they're working through, or what helped last time.
TIE Academy
Every answer is grounded in your child's living profile — age, developmental stage, language environment, learning style, and what's been on your mind lately.
Sources its claims
Where the answer came from
A general AI chatbot
Trained on the open internet. Doesn't tell you what it read, doesn't distinguish CDC research from a parenting blog comment.
TIE Academy
Built on CDC, AAP, WHO, NIMH, and peer-reviewed developmental research. Every claim shows where it came from. Curated, not crowdsourced.
Has a worldview
A long view of the world
A general AI chatbot
Optimized to give a useful-feeling answer in the moment. No long view of the world your child will grow into.
TIE Academy
Built around GETI — geopolitics, economics, technology, investment — to prepare your child for a world that's changing fast, no matter where they end up.
Drawing on developmental research from
CDC · AAP · WHO · NIMH · NICHD · ASHA · UNICEF · OECD · Harvard Center on the Developing Child

Your child's data, protected by promise and contract.
Five concrete commitments. None of them are aspirational. Each one is enforced by code, contract, or both.
Encrypted in transit and at rest
Every byte you enter travels over TLS and lands in an access-controlled, encrypted database.
Never sold. Never used to train AI.
Our contracts with every AI provider explicitly forbid using your child's data to train their models — no exceptions.
You own it
Download the full profile any time. Delete it any time. We keep nothing after 30 days post-cancellation.
Identity scrubbed before AI inference
When the assistant asks an AI provider, your child's name and identifying details are stripped first. Only the developmental signal goes through.
Three named subprocessors. Contracts on file.
Clerk for sign-in, Stripe for billing, Anthropic for AI inference. The complete list with contract terms is public.

Signature methodology
GETI — four lenses we use to make the world teachable.
Who holds power, who moves, and what that means for the world your child will inherit.
Incentives, trade, jobs, inflation — the forces that shape the choices families and countries make.
AI, systems, innovation — not the headlines, but the underlying shifts changing how people learn and work.
Markets, capital, risk — understanding how decisions and money move together over time.
Every 7 days
A quiet nudge. Not another notification.
Once a week, you get a short note about your child — what the roadmap focused on, one question worth sitting with, and one thing to try before the next note arrives. No streaks. No badges. No pressure to perform parenthood.
TIE Academy
This week with [Child] — one small notice, one question.
A gentle weekly read from TIE Academy.
This week
- Curiosity pattern: three "why" questions about fairness in a row.
- A restlessness in routines — worth watching, not worrying about yet.
- First unprompted money question — a doorway.
Question worth sitting with
When your child asks "why is that fair?", are they asking about rules, or about something deeper?
This week's GETIT kit

A note from Sam Ahn, founder
We built the platform we wished existed for our own children.
The world our children will inherit is not the world we were trained for. I was trained to solve for the test, the school, the résumé — and I watched, as a parent and as an educator, how quickly those lanes started to feel narrow. TIE Academy is an attempt to build something wider: a steady, research-grounded way for families to think about childhood in the age of AI without losing sight of the child.
The platform will not tell you what your child should be. It will help you see, clearly and a little more slowly, who your child is becoming — and what a thoughtful next step looks like. That's the work. That's what we wish we had.
I'm a father of three school-aged sons — preschool through middle school — and currently teach at a global online middle and high school. I also work with educators on how AI is reshaping the classroom, and lead GETI courses for parents and adults navigating the same questions in their own families.
My book 「공부만 잘하는 아이는 AI로 대체됩니다」 — Korean for 'Children Who Only Excel Academically Will Be Replaced by AI' — was published in Korea and translated for publication in Taiwan. This platform is the kind of help I wish my own family had at every stage.

Frequently asked
Questions parents ask before they start.
Is this an admissions tool?
No. Admissions outcomes are a by-product of a well-raised child, not the goal. The platform helps you understand development, interests, and habits — not build a college pitch.
Does the AI diagnose?
Never. The AI is grounded in developmental research (CDC, AAP, WHO, NIMH, NICHD, ASHA, UNICEF) and uses non-diagnostic language by design. If something suggests a clinical question, the assistant names it and points you toward a professional.
Is it available in Korean?
Yes. Korean is a peer locale, not a translation. The interface uses 존댓말 throughout, and AI guidance is written in Korean with the same care as English. Spanish and Chinese are on the roadmap.
What ages is this for?
The platform is built first for ages 4–12, with content extending through high school as the child grows. Parents of younger and older children use the same core loop — the tone and activities shift.
What happens if I cancel during the 7-day trial?
You keep the Initial Report PDF you generated. The in-app reader stays available for that report. Re-subscribing at any point reactivates the existing report — we don't regenerate it.
Is my child's data safe?
Yes. We never sell data. We never use your child's profile to train public models. Access is limited, audited, and deletable on request. See Privacy for the full policy.
