Sam Ahn is the founder of TIE Academy and the lead educator of LEGO Civics: AI & Robots. An educator for nearly two decades, he first launched the LEGO Civics program in Manhattan fifteen years ago and now brings it to families across Korea. He is the author of Children Who Only Excel at Studying Will Be Replaced by AI (「공부만 잘하는 아이는 AI로 대체됩니다」). His teaching starts from one conviction: in the age of AI, memorizing more and scoring higher is no longer enough. The children who will thrive are the ones who can collaborate with people unlike them, understand someone who disagrees, and exercise the judgment to decide what machines should — and shouldn't — do. So his classroom isn't about the "right answer"; it's about building, debating, and deciding together. Sam is at his best teaching the curious challenger — the child who asks "why," shares a half-formed idea, and tries again after getting it wrong. He mixes ages on purpose so older kids grow as leaders and younger ones reach higher, and treats every child as a capable young person, not a test score.
